SEX AND MONEY

Is Violence the only Expression???

In the light of rapes and sexual violence..

Sex and Money are the two most ‘misunderstood’ concepts ..

So totally not understood, so poorly expressed and so vaguely defined..

And the expressions therefore…insensitive, aggressive ,violating , even violent…How difficult is it to keep it ‘respectful’ from the human perspective !

Sex and Money ‘EXIST’ and both are meant to bring ‘HAPPINESS’ to life…Both are a matter of ‘CHOICE’…Both are a matter of PERSONAL UNDERSTANDING AND EXPRESSION…Both are personal DECISIONS..We make our own RULES for the same…They are not ‘SOCIAL NORMS’ that can be forced upon people and can never be !

Not that there is no violence..but the ‘Violence’ is of the HUMAN MIND and its vagaries..Sex and money do not command violence, they are always ‘SILENT’…it is the Executors who cause violence..

But both have been so ‘DUMBED DOWN’ by popular conditioning and a desire to toe the line of ‘societal decency’ , we have forgotten the GOOD side to it…and how our ‘Personal Spaces’ can be ‘raised’…By socially BLOCKING the good side..we have raised ‘Monstrous’ desires and maniacal expressions of something as normal as eating ‘food’ , as magical as ‘procreation’ and beautiful as ‘expressing love’

WHO CAN TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR OUR PERSONAL MENTAL STATE,WHO CAN OWN RESPONSIBILITY FOR OUR PERSONAL UNDERSTANDING?? The Government , Media, Films, Women, Men, Who???? Whatever is our understanding of Sex and Money is what WE HAVE CHOSEN to understand..and if that understanding causes ‘problems’ who is responsible??? No one can be ‘blamed’ for our understanding except us..So if we are troubled about it..High time we changed it..instead of living it

Then there is BLAME on Women, Media, Films..We have ‘decided’ on the ‘Perpetrators’ too..Judging every bit of Society..instead of using ‘all or any exposure’ to further ‘define’ our choices or our understanding..How Men and Women express themselves is their personal choice, How films depict sex is their level of comfort with what they want to project, What Media sells is ‘aspiration’ and apart from sex and money, uses many other motivators and driving forces..As the consumer, we have to ‘discern’ the right for us..No Film, Media says..I am right, live life like this ! They dont come to our homes to say, listen, if you do not live our way, we will punish you…I have never heard that in my lifetime..

When I hear, people say, woman provoked, films show sex and that is why ‘men get provoked’ ..tantamounting to ‘men being the poor victims’.. MY HEAD BENDS IN SHAME…what about our mind, what about our values, what about our choices, what about our way of being..The Woman who was raped some months ago by 17 men was a victim, the woman who was raped two days ago in Delhi is a victim…But saying that the Man on the Street or the one watching a film is a victim of ‘exposure’ and he cannot control himself at the cost of otherwise practiced ‘societal decency’..is the most hypocritical and false and irresponsible thing to say..

Let us look ‘INWARDS’ and ‘DECIDE’ how we want sex and money in our lives…and allow the same space to others.Some will ostracise, some will glorify and in the middle, most will have to ACCEPT that both these exist, not as ‘ills’ but as ‘necessary to existence’ which need to be better understood. Let us take RESPONSIBILITY of our own sexual understanding and expression..Let us not force these violent views around and let us allow ‘normalcy’ around these two misunderstood words.

At any cost, abhor forced violations in the name of sex and money..that becomes human violation!
